This is my fifth year with USD 470 as C-4 Elementary Principal.
I have been in education for 27 years.
I began teaching for REACH Preschool Developmental Center in the Fall of 1992 right after graduating from Emporia State University. I worked as a Family Services Coordinator for that organization for 7 years, providing home based services for infants and toddlers who were diagnosed with delays in their development.
I signed on with Cowley County Special Services Cooperative in the the Fall of 1999. I worked at Lowell Elementary as an Interrelated Classroom Teacher (K-5) for 5 1/2 years. In January of 2004 I had the opportunity to begin a Early Childhood Special Education classroom within the Winfield School District. I taught ECSE from that point until last Spring.
The first 1.5 years of my ECSE experinece was spent at Imaging PALS which was located downtown Winfield. From there, I moved to Webster Early Learning Center. When Webster re-organized a few years in, I became the teacher of the three-year classes. In 2008, I began pursuing my degree in School Leadership and after graduating with my Master's degree began as the Site Administrator and three-year teacher at Webster. I continued in that position for six years until resigning to become the principal at C-4 Elementary.
I have been happily married to Mark Hutto for 21 years. Mark is the owner of Hutto Printing Inc. located in downtown Winfield. His print shop was a family business that was started when he was two. He bought the business from his father and continues to provide a variety of printing options for the Winfield area.
Together we have three daughters. Alyssa is 26 and is a graduate of Washburn University. Brianne is 20 and a junior at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. Randi is 19 and is a sophomore at Kansas University studying speech pathology.
We share our home with one Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Laci and a cat, Lana along with many ducks who live on the pond behind our home.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, attending their sporting events, going to movies, camping, and traveling.
